Being a professional player can bring you some benefits, but it won’t put you in prison. Former NFL quarterback Paul Crewe, played by comedian Adam Sandler, finds himself in a Texas prison after breaking parole rules. Instead of going to the party with his girlfriend, he got drunk, took a lap around his girlfriend’s BMW, was damaged, and ended up in prison. Prison guard Rudolph Hasson(played by James Cromwell, the best actor on the Canadian screen) is a fan and is very interested in Crewe. After he was beaten by some prison guards and helped the prison football team become better, Crewe announced that playing football with prison prisoners would help them to have more confidence. He encountered several different personalities, reactions and obstacles when recruiting prisoners to form a team. His assistant is a guard(Chris Rock). He has some contacts inside and outside the prison. His coach is another former football player, Nate Scarborough. Scarborough is played by Bert Reynolds, who is the original hero. The prisoners won the game.
The film and television review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes commented that the freshness of Longest Yard(2005) was 31%, which was very bad. Most of the critics prefer the original 1974 film, so the evaluation of this film is not very good.

This film has the cliches that Adam Sandler’s humorous fans like, the black comedy and violence that some people enjoy, and the rather strange prison guards’ descriptions of prisoners. Throughout the film, the audience will watch how the main characters and secondary characters interact with each other in their teams(prisoners), how to fight with other prison guards, and find fun. This film has a deep understanding of the past activities that prisons can bring to all people, and shows the friendship that prisoners can have despite their differences in color, preferences, views, and seriousness of crimes.
It is very similar to the original.(2005 film) Several famous actors and athletes also acted as actors. For example, William Fechtner, Terry Cruise, Kevin Nash, Steve Stone Cord Austin and Brian Bosworth. Accents blend rock and hip hop styles. Therefore, on the whole, this is one of the best prison movies ever made, and it will make you laugh when hugging you.
